Prior to joining Castlefield Recruitment, I attended the University of Chester where I graduated last November 2017 with a degree in Psychology. While studying full time, I also juggled working as a Care Team Leader at a nursing home in Macclesfield and continued to work there until the end of 2017. Upon graduation, and despite having studied Psychology and working mainly in the health care sector, I knew I wanted to go straight into employment and start a career in the recruitment industry.
Having no background in recruitment made the first months of applying for recruitment jobs challenging, with companies citing my lack of experience as a negative factor.
When I got in touch with Castlefield I was excited, as they genuinely believed in me and they were not discouraged by my lack of experience within the industry. Castlefield were friendly, professional and welcoming and I felt that they would help me develop professionally and personally.
From day one, I have felt that there is a driven yet fun and relaxed working environment at Castlefield where everyone honestly supports each other. There is also a rewarding aspect to this role – I get to help candidates find their next job and clients fulfil their staffing needs.
I also, of course, enjoy the regular social events, where I get to know my colleagues more and it gives me the chance to experience the cool places Manchester has to offer!
At Castlefield I get to learn and enhance my skills each day doing work which I enjoy and I am excited to take on more responsibilities. I believe that this is the company where I can flourish and have a long-term recruitment career and I look forward to contributing to its future success.
